Welcome To Tutor By Mari!

The Tutor By Mari service offers private academic tutoring to elementary-aged children (K-Prep thru 5th Grade) at all proficiency levels, including private school-prep assistance. A challenging and comprehensive curriculum, beginning with current assignments & homework assistance, is specially custom-tailored to each student's individual needs and learning style. Students benefit from the personal one-on-one attention and Ms. Mari will work closely with the student's classroom teacher & parents in order to properly align & reinforce the standards-based concepts being taught. All academic tutoring sessions are sixty (60) minutes in length, and clients have the option of once- or twice-weekly sessions based upon scheduler availability.

Ms. Mari was born & raised in Hawaii, she has 14+ years of experience as a certified elementary public schoolteacher (Grades: K. to 6th) with the Hawaii State Department of Education. In addition to her more-than-a-decade of experience as a public schoolteacher, she also has a collegiate-level music major background with 17+ years of experience as a private piano teacher. Her impressive repertoire of piano teaching experience includes a 5-year stint as a private piano teacher working for Ellen Masaki, a well-known local musical entrepreneur; founder of the Ellen Masaki School of Music, as well as owner of Thayer Piano Co. Ltd. Utilizing her previous experience as a traveling private piano teacher, Ms. Mari also operates Piano By Mari...a private piano studio.
